7 Days to a Chaise

Awhile back I wanted a chaise lounge, but couldn't find a piece that was just the right color, size, etc. So, I built one.

We had a $10 couch that we found on Kijiji that was super comfy (but hideous). I used that and a queen-sized box spring for my raw materials.

I cut the ends off of the box spring...

...and joined them together to make the base of the chair.

Then cut the arms off the couch....

...and slapped them on the base.

Then I salvaged the springs that made the seat of the couch...

...and made the back of the chair.

I softened it up with some salvaged batting.

Cut some of the couch cushions (just foam) to size, and covered it all in upholstery.

Voila!

Comfy enough for the most discerning of family members.
